It's normal to feel sad, stressed, confused, scared or angry during a crisis.

Bayside Health Nook acknowledges this is a particularly difficult time, and we appreciate that the effects of the current health situation go beyond individuals to families and the wider communities. We also recognise the toll the current climate can have on the emotional, mental and physical health on everyone.

Our vision is to provide holistic support for you, your family and our community in the current health crisis. We are urging all of our clients to allow us to provide continuity of care and support you in this time.

We are continuing to offer face-to-face appointments as required, home visits and Telehealth appointments across disciplines of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Exercise Physiology. These remote services are something we have always provided to those who were unable to engage with us in a traditional setting, so we are confident in the modality.

We continue to have available relaxing candles from Sarz Sanctuary (which also support a local charity), magnesium products to support muscle and mental relaxation, and our multidisciplinary team can promote holistic health care for you and your loved ones.

  • Physiotherapy support for pain and movement conditions and building strength that is particularly important at the current time of increased isolation.

  • Occupational Therapy - especially for children who may be having upheaval to their routines, support attention and concentration, behaviour, emotional regulation, fine and gross motor skills, self-care and sensory processing.

  • Speech Pathology – Support for alternative ways you can connect with your friends and family given social distancing including phone calling, video call via zoom or facetime, and audio messages through Facebook messenger.

  • Exercise Physiology- continuity of exercise programs to support chronic medical conditions such as cancer and musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and neurological diseases.

The Queensland Government has compiled a list of services available to the community to support your mental and emotional health during this time. https://mentalwellbeing.initiatives.qld.gov.au/support?fbclid=IwAR3F7-jhMccbqgWl1rvNKD2eR0Q5NT5IrGDh8o_5nsbqQgry7n0jDM72tfw It is important to talk to friends, family and community, show yourself kindness, and do activities that you enjoy.

We are all in this together.
